An evening of exceptional chamber music featuring the award-winning cellist, Maxim Kozlov and the Japanese pianist, Sakiko Ohashi. The concert will feature the music of Dimitri Shostakovich and Robert Schumann, in the beautiful Artistree Barn Concert Space venue.
Maxim resides in Maryland, performing and teaching the greater-Washington D.C. area. Born in Russia, Maxim traveled the world with Chamber Music “Kremlin” and was for 7 years principal cellist with the South Dakota Symphony. His playing has been described as forceful and poetic, drawing rich colors and dynamic tonalities from the instrument. He follows a long tradition of a captivating musical style, drawing in the listener through his exceptional technical skill combined with delightful lyricism.
Sakiko spent many years studying at The Juilliard School in New York City, receiving both bachelor and masters degrees in piano performance. Since that time, she has performed in various chamber music ensembles with some of the world’s leading artists, as well as recital and orchestral appearances. Sakiko has known for her remarkable versatility at the keyboard and inherent mastery of chamber music performance style.
A post-concert talk with Sakiko and Maxim and reception will conclude the evening.
