In this small class instruction is tailored to your needs as a painter. Those who have never painted before will learn the foundations of painting in a fun and supportive environment. For those with more experience, the class will be focused on your specific needs and interests. All participants will benefit from learning in a community of painting students at different levels.
Having taught all levels of painting at one of the country’s foremost art colleges, Dan has developed methods of teaching painting that are informative and supportive. Beginners will start with still lifes and move on from there, learning some color theory, composition, impasto, glazing, and other painting techniques. For more advanced students, projects are more individually focused, but include exploring different subject matter, abstraction, materiality, and working at different scales. Class discussion will help students learn to examine their own work with an eye toward growth. Come join us for a joyful experience of passion for paint and painting.
