In this fun and expressive movement workshop, we will explore the Nia Technique, a contemporary mind-body movement practice. The overall focus of this session will be listening to and moving the body to support joyful expression, freedom, and ease. Nia offers the cardiovascular and conditioning benefits of traditional fitness classes while encouraging emotional expression and engagement to nourish the mind, body, and soul. Nia is a barefoot technique blending simple movements from the Martial Arts, Dance Arts, and Healing Arts. Designed for all levels of fitness, the movements are organic and adaptable for bodies of all shapes, sizes, and levels of experience. The music of Nia is eclectic and universal, a wonderful backdrop for self-expression and exploration. No prior training is necessary. Everyone is welcome.
