Ever wondered how artists draw? You can learn to draw, too! The ability to learn to draw is as universal as the ability to learn how to read, ride a bike, or speak a foreign language. Moreover, the physical act of drawing requires no more motor skill than writing. Drawing, however, is a unique learned activity that requires breaking familiar patterns of observation.
The Artist’s Way of Seeing will introduce you to basic techniques and materials, build confidence through practice and open new windows onto the world’s endlessly fascinating subtlety. In-class exercises will teach you to shift your cognition and transcend habituated perception. Each student will receive his or her own artist-quality sketchbook, drawing pencil, kneaded eraser, and pencil sharpener to use and keep.
