This class combines many experimental water media techniques with traditional techniques such as glazing, negative painting, and ways to create textures. Each week a new technique will be demonstrated and individual instruction will be offered as your work progresses.
This interactive program will allow you to begin with loose, organic applications using watercolor and other water media products. Additional materials we will work with to encourage the experimental process include wax paper, string, alcohol, and several other accessible items. Many of these techniques can be applied to realistic elements in paintings such as rocks, water, trees, etc., or developed as abstract pieces. You will determine which traditional techniques and elements of composition and design you will use to develop and complete your painting. Interesting demonstrations will open your eyes to new possibilities in painting.
