“Kamu” means “flower dream” in Japanese. Kamu Design Studio will present many creative Japanese traditions throughout the day, including ikebana: the elegant Japanese art of flower arrangement. Ikebana is a disciplined art form that is steeped in Japanese philosophy, uniting nature and humanity in the living arrangement. Kamu Design Studio ikebana arrangements will be displayed in the gallery all day and during an evening reception, and will be available for purchase.
9am-4:30pm – Arts Program
•Ikebana flower arranging demonstrations
•Children’s origami and Japanese calligraphy class
•Ikebana flower arranging class for adults
•Kimono demonstration and traditional tea ceremony
4:30-6:30pm – Gallery Reception
Our evening reception celebrates the ikebana artists and features light food and beverages evoking tastes of Japan. Flower arrangements will be on display all day in the gallery and will be available for sale.
