ArtisTree has quite the event line-up this February for all ages and interests!

Our Open Mic Night with Jim Yeager is always a great way to hear great local artist show off their musical stuff in a relaxed, supportive and fun atmosphere.  Come alone or with a group!  Come to play or just to watch! February Open Mic dates are Thursdays, February 2nd and 16th at 7pm! Learn more.

We are also excited to welcome musician Spencer Lewis to our intimate performance space for the first time on Friday, February 3rd at 7pm. Spencer will perform his signature combination of reflective instrumental folk grooves and his own singer-songwriter "folk that rocks" during this double CD releases concert. $20 single ticket, $30 per couple (ticket includes the "Souls" CD and a download card of the "From Now To Now" album). Learn more.

For young families we have the musical performance of The Story of Babar, the Little Elephant on Saturday, February 4th at 10am. Upper Valley-based musical couple Annemieke and Jeremiah McLane perform their own piano and accordion arrangement of Poulenc’s musical setting of the children’s classic book, with Upper Valley singer and actor Becky Bailey as narrator. Composed in 1940 to please a 3-year-old relative, Poulenc’s setting is sublime musical storytelling, both sophisticated and accessible, a delight for all ages. Poulenc’s musical colors, jaunty rhythms and snappy sound effects are accentuated by the McLanes' arrangement. This performance is FREE and open to the public. Learn more.

For the movers and shakers out there - man do we have the thing for you!  Celebrate Valentine's Day in style with the swinging beats of the Starline Rhythm Boys at Suicide Six on Friday, February 10th! Ticket purchase includes a free lesson with special guest choreographer and teacher, Patricia Lefler! $20 single, $35 double. Free lesson, 7-8pm. Dance, 8-10pm. Learn more.

In downtown Woodstock, on the Village Green, our very own Adrian Tans will be working hard at the Flurry Snow Sculpture Contest, Friday-Sunday, February 17th-19th put on by Pentangle Arts. Over Presidents Day Weekend, the Woodstock Village Green is transformed into a celebration of winter and the visual arts. Cheer on professional snow sculpting teams as they compete to create large, stunning sculptures, and be amazed as these works of art come to life over a three-day period.  You can even vote for your favorite “Peoples’ Choice” pick, to be announced Sunday, February 19. Learn more.

And last, but not least, we welcome Wheezer & Squeezer to ArtisTree’s performance space on Saturday, February 25th at 7pm. Wielding an accordion and bagpipes (and often whistles and piano), they create a beguiling blend which utterly subverts the common stereotypes of their Old World instruments. McLane and Cummings —affectionately nicknamed "Wheezer & Squeezer"— draw from a broad repertoire that includes bourrées from Central France, gavottes from Brittany in Northwestern France, dance tunes from the Scottish Border region, and original compositions reflecting North American influences. This rare, captivating duo commands both feet and spirits to dance! $20 includes CD. Learn more.
